Testing of assembled Landing Gears, Dampers and Actuators

The undercarriage or landing gear is the structure that supports an aircraft on the ground and allows it to taxi, takeoff and land.
Typically, wheels are used, but skids, skis, floats or a combination of these and other elements can be deployed, depending on the surface.
The main structural components of a landing gear system are the shock absorber, axle, torque links, side braces, retraction actuators, wheels, and tires.
System components consist of the brake system, anti-skid systems, retraction systems, and steering systems.

We provide test rigs for testing fully assembled landing gears, sub-assemblies, or components. Available are static systems for the determination of the spring rate, damping features, quality control as well as dynamic / fatigue systems.

Our test rigs are designed for compression and tension forces. Horizontal and vertical daylight as well as load capacity and actuator stroke are tailored to the requirements of the landing gears.
The upper crosshead features hydraulic unclamping and height adjustment for convenient sample installation. The systems are designed to accept bending and torsional moments which can occur. The lower platen incorporates T-slots for high flexibility and the upper one holes and/or also T-slots to interface the sample.

The systems can be extended with a second, smaller force load cell as well as redundant load measurement to protect the sample in case of load cell error. Optionally available: Additional Side Loading Option.
